The Haunting Home The Haunting of MortimerThe New Haunting : Chapter OneThe Haunting project was revamped in January 2006. The old haunting was a good learning experience, and I am hoping to have learned enough from it to make it a better project. This document will act as a journal to present concepts and progress as they occur. Chapters will be added as each page's content gets too long. 2005.01.13 : SuitsI proof-of-concept'ed suits for Mort and James from Poser models. Just a quick and dirty render to show the basic forms.
These suits may actually be acceptable for my first project - I don't want to overkill on details at this time, as this entire project is as much a proof of concept project as anything. I want to clean up Jimmy's collar, and I'll probably call the modeling a wrap unless something else comes up. Of course, both characters will get better materials. They are currently only color-shaded. 2005.01.09 : The New JimmyThe new Jimmy head has been modified (left, below). Compare with the old Jimmy (right, below).
The old Jimmy was in for some tweaking (rounding out skull, getting rid of vertical "banding"), but I'm overall much happier with the "new" Jimmy - I believe he fits better with Mort. 2005.01.06 : The New Mortimer The new Mortimer head has been modeled (left, below). Compare with the old Mortimer (right, below).
This image is sans teeth, and the neck is unfinished. Unlike James, Mortimer will be completely bald. Where James' hair (and likely his eyebrows) will be modeled using either Lightwave or the AC3D Fur plugin, I haven't decided whether to make Mortimer's eyebrows textures, fur, or a combination of the two.
